Q. 1. (a) (i) Define adverb with two examples.
Ans:- An Adverb modifies a verb, adjective or another adverb. Generally adverbs are formed by adding 'ly' at the end of adjectives

Q. 2. (b) Transform the following sentences as directed against each :
(i) You are taller than Mohan. (Use positive degree)
(ii) The Policeman was too slow to catch the thief. (Re-write the sentence without 'too').

Ans. (a) Pros and cons : The positive and negative aspects of something.
(b) Make both ends meet : To earn just enough money to pay one's bills.
(c) Raise a hue and cry: To make an issue about something; to alert people to a problem or difficulty.
(d) Safe and sound : Safe from danger and free from injury' unharmed or healthy.
